Puttur: Chit fund controversy - assault-accused arrested

Puttur, Jan 10: Kishore Poojary from Sampya, who is facing the allegation of assaulting Charan Raj, who runs chit fund business at Darbe here, stands arrested.

Reportedly, Kishore Poojary had withdrawn four lac rupees from the chit fund. He had failed to repay the amount. Charan Raj had recently served him notice seeking repayment of the fund raised by him. Angered by the notice, it is said that Kishore called Charan over phone on Monday morning and posed threats to him. It is learnt that on Monday evening, he arrived along with a gang and assaulted Charan Raj.

In his complaint, Charan said that Kishore Poojary Kannadka, Manish,Preetam Sampya, Dhananjay Shetty, Sujith and some others were the members of the group which attacked him with swords and soda bottles.

Charan Raj stands admitted into a private hospital here. A case in this connection was registered in rural police station here.
