The art enthusiasts should contribute to improving Taalamaddale along with the artistes who strive to be innovative in their performance,’ said Dr Mala Prabhakar Joshi, here on Saturday, July 26.
Dr Joshi was speaking at the inaugural of the ‘Yakshagana Taalamaddale week’, organized at the Pejavar Math auditorium, located in Santa Cruz, in the metro. Vasudev Udupa, inaugurated the Taalamaddale week by lighting the lamp in a ceremony presided over by Dinesh Pai, convener, GSB Seva Sangh.
Dharmapal U Devadiga , president, Devadiga Sangh, Gururaj Nayak, Kalattoor Vishwanat Shetty, Suresh Bhandary, Balakrishna Bhandary, Bannanje Yashwant Shetty, Bola Kamalaksha Nagesh Kamath, and Suguna K Kamat, were the guests present on the occasion.
The yakshagana taalamaddale, ‘Sudhanya Moksha’, which was sponsored by Bola Kamalaksha Nagesh Kamath, was staged by veteran native artistes. Shekar Paniyoor, convener, Taalamaddale touring troupe, welcomed the gathering while Ashok Pakkala compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
