Mumbai: CCCI Opens its Membership to NRI Christian Businessmen

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai (SP)

Mumbai,Aug 3: Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry(CCCI) is a body of Christian businessmen from all walks of business. It serves as an umbrella for small and medium size enterpreneurs and facilitates interaction amongst members, to promote business and exchange ideas, on the upgradation of technology with a view to help improve efficiency and support members in order to keep them abreast of the rapidly changing global business scenario and more importantly, to help the members to thrive in the competitive market.

CCCI as of late, decided to open up its membership to non resident Indian (NRI) Christian businessmen, in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations. These NRIs had been requesting time and again to provide them with access to the CCCI membership.

The type of membership offered will be life / patron membership and charges for the same will be  Rs 5,500  and Rs 25,500 respectively.   Besides there is an  annual office maintenance charge of Rs.1000/-.   The CCCI was registered under the company's act in 1998 in Mumbai. It has on its roll, around 350 life / patron members, both small, and medium-size Christian entrepreneurs.

This move will bring Indian Christian businessmen both at home and abroad under one umbrella and provide a platform for the NRI Christian businessmen to interact with their counterparts in India.  Besides, they will have the opportunity to participate in the meetings and fellowship whenever they are on a visit to India.  Also they will become eligible to undertake business promotional activities through the organization's website.

Needless to say, the opening up of the membership to NRIs will spell the beginning of a historic movement which will be mutually beneficial. This bonding is expected to create ripples and evoke a lot of interest and enthusiasm in the area of trade and commerce, which will benefit the members, community and the country as a whole.

About CCCI:

According to the adage "Well begun is half done",  a marathon initial struggle in the form of countless meetings and deliberations, culminated in the formation of a body titled 'Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry," which was registered under section 25 of the companies act 1956 on 27th March, 1998 and governed by the conditions and provisions as laid down in its memorandum of articles of association.

The movement of Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry which commenced with a modest strength, gained momentum over a period of time, and with the enthusiasm and support from all over, has been able to reach the present respectable membership level of over 300 with the hope of reaching a target of 500 members in the near future.

The Chamber has an independent office with necessary infrastructure and full time secretariat located at Solaris Building No.1, Unit No. B-143, Opp. L & T Gate No. 6,  Saki Vihar Road, Powai, Mumbai – 400 072. I am extremely happy to see the progress our Christian community is making in the field of business and it is very creditable that Vincent Mathias has commenced CCCI to help businessmen both big and small. This will go a long way to represent the problems if any to The Government and obtain relief. It is good to see my friend Bishop Percy Fernandes encouraging the Unit as I see him in the photograph. I also see Bishop A.P. D'Souza in one of the pictures.

This is a clear indication that the secular body has the blessings of The Bishops. I congratulate Vincent even though I have not met him. No doubt I was once a resident of Mumbai but then did not have an occasion of meeting this gentleman. Joe Gonsalves.
