PM Modi a 'fantastic man', but US is 'getting nothing': Donald Trump complains about tariff

Washington, Feb 27 (Zee News): US President Donald Trump is not a happy with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the second time in two weeks, Trump complained about India's tariffs on the import of motorcycles. This time, however, Trump mimicked Modi's 'namaste' while delivering his complaint.

Trump had on February 14, complained during a meeting with US lawmakers that India's tariff on the import of American motorcycles - specifically Harley-Davidsons - was too high. He returned to the complaint on Monday.

"When I spoke to PM (Modi) he said we are lowering it to 50% but so far we are getting nothing. He gets 50%, he thinks, he is doing us a favour, but that is not a favour," complained Trump at a meeting of the governors of US states at the White House.

"I wasn't sure - he said it so beautifully. He's a beautiful man. And he said, 'I just want to inform you that we have reduced it to 75, but we have further reduced it to 50'. And I said, huh. What do I say? Am I supposed to be thrilled?" said Trump, imitating Modi by holding his palms in a 'namste' and speaking in a low and serious voice.

Trump just realized that there is no point in hosting and spending so much of amount on Mr. Modi's repeated visits to his country; without getting anything in return.
Even foreign presidents are fed up of Mr.Modi's visits ; let alone Indians.
Even we Indians are not getting anything from his foreign tours. Wastage of tax payers' money.

This is the classic example of mismanagement by incompetent people in the high posts.

Yes, Donald Trump woke up now.

Also, one-by-one, dignitaries from the nations Modi visited are coming to India (one is expected today) to question Modi's promise. I'm sure its not about manufacturing in India to give us jobs, but asking 'why delay in importing' products from their nations.

I am sure Modi has signed pact reverse to exporting from India ! The earlier government used the foreign currency revenue earned by our citizens working abroad to stabilize the recession. Probably Modi Govt will level it for importing products and stocking in India thus draining even our foreign currency reserve !

Whether the US be ruled by Trump, or Hilary, it makes no monetary gain to India. India flourishes by putting to best use of her own revenue, by making jobs available to each and every citizens so that taxes will be constant. Look at the state of the nation - our PM is on a world record spree to make highest foreign trip by a serving dignitary in the world. As a result, we are not 'making in India' but the countries he visited are asking India to import products, they are not coming to give us jobs. Nothing other than that !

    Convince me if otherwise !

    RSRB,

I won't be surprised if you were one of those who defended the Indian PM going on so many foreign trips, arguing that he is going to get pacts signed for 'Make in India'. Therefore Indians should not worry about expenditure incurred on that account.

Now, America is asking 'why not importing bikes' ? Meaning, Modi signed pact to import bikes, not to manufacture them (for the US) in India. Don't you think its correct of Modi haters to be supporting US now because India did not commit such projects through previous PMs but didn't this PM made a fool of us all Indians ? Now, let Modi keep his word ?? What do you say ?

As for us Indians to be thinking more about our business(profit) than that of the US, well, we are worried. We are worried that 'Make in India' is not happening by manufacturing Harley bikes in India. Tell me - are we wrong ? Whether or not we like/hate Modi, are we wrong to expect India to flourish through 'Make in India ? Please tell me ??

Make is India is a try, which may or may not succeed. But opposing a good cause and good effort is not right. Out of 100 try, even if one succeeds, it is success. It is like fresh graduates going for the interviews. They might go to tens of interviews but still we don't question their interview expenses. Because even if he succeeds in one, that will cover all the expenses very soon. But if you say, don't go for interview, no one will agree with you.

Rajesh... Rajesh.... I can understand what a great patriot you are. And that how well you understand that by India importing the bikes from the US the nation loses, doesn't gain. Now tell me, how do you expect Trump to be a non-patriotic then ? How can you be fooled by the Indian PM that the US will come to India to fulfill his 'Make in India' dream ? Will build Harleys in India and then sell them in India (as opposed to the US selling the ready-made bikes ?) Did you (along with Modi) think that the US is thinly populated, there are no people to work, their citizens don't need jobs ?

Tell me - as you are a patriotic, don't you expect Trump to be one too ? How did you believe when Modi went about the world tour propagating his 'Make in India' ? Didn't you use your so sharp brain then ? Didn't you think that for a country to be producing in a foreign land, it becomes the product of that nation (India) which will have to be purchased (imported) upon completion ?

Why you too gave-in to the 'Baniya-Buddhi' fooling ? Why ??

    Dinesh,

Then, why this drama of 'Make in India' ? We Indians thought that the world is starving of factories, space and labour so they will come flocking to Indian to build/manufacture. We thought no other PM in the history of India had the brains of Modi, nobody before him assumed this need of the world, the need to lend our land for factories.

Tell me, did Modi consult the countries he visited before launching 'Make in India' ? Did Modi estimate how much it will cost to propagate his 'Baniya Buddhi' but get nothing in return ? Who is at loss now ? With so many of foreign trips paying nothing in return, with all those countries expecting India to import instead of they shift their factories, tell me who is fooled ?

Why would any foreign company just come here and setup factories without doing some feasible studies ?
    Points are:-
    1) They could be chased away by swadeshi companies like"Pata nahi chali"
    2) They could get burnt alive on the pretext of "Conversion"
    3) If they at all fall in love with local woman, "Love Jihad" and get grilled by "NIA"
    4) 99% foreigners are Beef eaters, they have a scare of getting lynched while eating beef in India. Rather they will stay away from India and enjoy Indian Exported Beef on foreign soil without any interference from Sanghis.
