Its really amazing to see such a parade in our own city. This kind of parade will defenetly create patriotism among the younger generation and at the same time its really sad to see some of the comments wherein people have a ill thoughts. Come on yaar if you have any problem with one particular community lets forget for the sake of this great nation.

Today PFI took a initiative to march for the cause of the poor, backward, socially descriminated people and to put confidence with themselves and with their country. Why can't we forget our differences and be a part of any event that leads to national interest irrespective of the religion. my brothers try to be the part of the change or else atleast try to compliment the change. Dear Prakash,Harold D'cunha,Krishna,Ashok Fernandes....I am sure you people are not lived in  Mangalore for many years or you all belonging to some group.  The various 'route marches' by the sangh parivar like Panjina Meravanige, samajostava none of which commemmorated independence day or involved the national flag.

I am ashamed of some of community members for commenting against true freedom spirit of young guns from Mangalore. This is only because freedom parade is organized by Muslims.

One of my friend is an active worker for KFD & PFI, as he suggested to me, please check their official website www.popularfront-india.com before making baseless statements. Hats off for PFI for disciplined, peaceful. Systematic freedom parade. Jai Hind.

All of we should support these kind of events irrespective of thinking negative about some communities or about some agenda and thinking we all indians are one.may be they are beared soldiers but they came forward to participate in such a event which makes them proud . With all that what is going on in J&K and other parts of this great indipendent nation, a parade from this single community based men in uniform is nothing but a absolute joke. The men who have invested money to get this all the logistics, uniforms to get this parade going should be having a agenda in mind.

It would have been a better option to donate that money to charity, schools or hospitals & that would have made a great Independence Day Celebration gift to some., than showing this march in the military uniform. We have a very efficient and capable army under one single command to take care of the country's borders and do not need these communal based armies all around.

The DC and the DSP are the authorities need to answer for granting permission to such parades. Is this army of the bearded soldiers is a recognized one. If, these guys are honest and want to show their true spirit the nation with a true spirit and heart then all these young men need to join the Army and serve at the borders and not marching once a year at the Mangala Stadium.

Next year we can expect them to march with guns and then turn them on on other communities. What is spectacular about this parade .....??? Watch out this Popular Front of today is going to be Unpopular Front tomorrow.... it is only a matter of time.

In 1947 India got divided on the basis of religion and even today we divide ourselves on the basis of religion. What is right here to one community may not be right to all. The so called parade of PFI belongs to one community, that also in the Mangala Stadium which should not be allowed. What are the reason to hold this type of Independence day rally by Muslim community only? Are they showing they are separate than others? What they want to prove.

First of all government should not have given permission to hold National Independence Day celebration by any religion or Community no matter who are they. Are we going you repeat another 1947? If today in the world there is so called misunderstanding about any one religion then the leaders of that community should sit down and think what is wrong in their community. They should have the introspection. If all people are treated equally where are the women group? Are the women have not got independence ?

We are definitely sure the educated Muslims will not support. It is their duty to convince their community not to indulge separate National Day in the religion name. My sincere suggestion is celebrate national day by joining the entire community irrespective of religion. Vende Matharam Jai Hind.

I think it's unfair to accuse people who have merely tried to commemmorate independecne day - I can't help notice that the very same people who accuse those of organizing the independence day parade used to call them -'anti-national' once upon a time.

The city is no stranger to parades from organizations belonging to the majority community, most of which are accompanied by indimidatory slogans - I remember the recent samajotsava and various 'route marches' by the sangh parivar - none of which commemmorated independence day or involved the national flag.

Considerng the activities and hate campaign of sangh-backed organizations in the recent past in the district, it was only expeced that a few members of the minority choose to organize themselves under a different manner So if this organization does want to celebrate independence do and does it in a disciplined manner without resorting to tacticts like the sangh parivar, I don't mind it at all

Any Minority or Majority Indian- Do we require this group which fixes own PFI-Flag on August 15th at 7:00am on light poles of M.G.Road(Mangalore) which eventually rounded-up by police and removed?

The events that have been taking place in different parts of the country in recent years involving discrimation against citizens of different minority communities including christians and muslims in providing timely protection against violence by so called nationalists has created a sense of uncertainty about the effectiveness of constitutional safeguards under a political class which is incresingly proving to be devoid of morals and genuine patriotism.

Several minorities have a feeling of marginalization especially among their youth. In such a situation if some of the leaders of a community have thought it appropriate to organise the youth and make them feel part of this great country through a independence day parade we should respect and appreciate it as positive beginning.

May be next time youth of all communities who believe in Unity in diversity of this country may come together for a apolotical & splendid display of genuine patriotism. Vande Mataram Jai Bharat

We being a responsible citizens , it is our moral duty to encourage any kind event/celebration pertaining to this National Festival with true spirit. We have to sacrifice everything for the sake of our country.There are no ristrictions in our constitution only political parties has to celebrate such events. everybody has to celebrate as much as they can and must be proud to say i'm an Indian and must fight for the unity and integrity of the citizens.

No doubt, the freedom parade organized by this so called popular front of India is nice and disciplined. But what is the agenda of this popular front group. Majority of these so called soldiers, official, guests and dignitaries are muslims which clearly shows that this group is communal. Should we expect these soldiers to parade with guns during our next independence day.

Freedom in India is in abundance. Everybody’s rights are respected as far has we respect each others rights. First of all the DC of Mangalore should not have given permission for such an individual communal based parade. We do not need such parades. What if Christians and Hindus come out with their own soldiers tomorrow. India does not need communal based soldiers.

We have a big Army to protect fight for our mother land where soldiers are trained to protect India and not their respective religions. In fact India needs more soldiers on the border to fight extremists and protect our nation from extremist ideas and terrorism. If the intention of this group is to show loyalty to the nation, why can’t these join the Indian Army and go through some stringent disciplined training under one command and come out with flying colors than form their own community based soldiers.

God knows what plans they have in mind. Once they obtain the license to arm themselves in the name of this so called freedom parade, I am sure they will get separatist ideas and point these same guns at their own countrymen. In my opinion, such individual groups in uniform should be banned. All men in uniform should be under one umbrella with one authority to serve the nation.

Wonderful, systematic and well disciplined! Let’s appreciate the folks for organizing the historic parade. The State Govt. may have red eyes on our true troops. We need to aware and be careful that, we should not give them a chance to ban these youth power.

In reality, the intention of this parade should be always in favor of lost people, socially discriminated, legally denied, and spiritually harassed by the anti social elements. PFI has shown terrific example to the other extreme anti social groups and it is a lesson for them to behave better with the all other religions. PFI should maintain and train their squads in a systematic and ideal way, which should not harm the national interest at any cost.

Lets give big hands to the PFI for fighting for the justice and protecting the lost people from the anti -social Mobs. Congrats guys and keep it up! -

I appreciate the organisers & participants. This shows that Our gr8 nation is not someone's property. This nation is for every citizen. Every Citizen has a right to Celebrate Independece day and show patriotism. But BJP Govt in our state not allowed to conclude the parade in Nehur Maidan. They ordered not to enter main streets. Despite all the obstacles Orgernisers did a very gr8 job. it made me to feel that the gr8 patriotic ceders are once again struggling for the freedom.
