Mumbai, Mar 27: The Bombay Bunts Youthwing on Sunday March 25 organised an outreach programme for 70 less privileged orphan children ranging from 1 year to 21 years and 35 dying destitutes at their shelter homes and ashram at the Good Samaritan Mission Charitable Trust, Tagor Nagar, Vikroli East, here. The mission of the trust headed by Fr Peter is to prevent and eradicate child labor, child abuse and protection of children rights, uplift the downtrodden with the cooperation of the community, government-allied departments and Line NGOs.
Youthwing had various interactive sessions in the form of magic show, antakshari, interactive games and dance followed by cake cutting. The children of the orphanage put up a marvellous dance performance for the visiting members of the youthwing. Dinner was organised by youthwing for all the children and destitutes at the ashram.
Various useful items such as clothes, chocolates, eatables, toiletries and others for the orphanage providing a month's supply were collected by the Bombay Bunts Association Youthwing from friends, families and well wishers and donated. Toys were distributed amongst all the kids.
The event was organised in the presence of BBA Youthwing chairman Charan R Shetty, vice chairman Shashikant Rai, secretary Smruthi Shetty, treasurer Dhananjay Shetty, joint secretary Rajeev Shetty, joint treasurer Nishaan Shetty and committee members. The event was attended by BBA Youthwing former chairperson Nivedita Shetty and Thane Bunts Youthwing former chairperson Priyanka Shetty.
In line with the many activities undertaken in the past by Youthwing, they are determined to organize similar outreach social awareness programmes for the youth of the community, as these programmes bring about positives, one of which is raising awareness amongst the youth through such events. It also serves as reminder that we need to be active in social causes and continue to engage the community in doing likewise.
It was fascinating to see humanity in action working with selflessness and without boundaries. With everyone's support, the event will surely raise uncompensated care towards these children and destitutes, to ensure everyone is cared for regardless of caste or religion. The contribution will serve the purpose of making a remarkable difference to this society and revive the fact that humanity still exists through the manner by which Youthwing has propagated and practiced it.
