Puttur: Uppinangady community health centre office superintendent ends life

Puttur, Mar 28: Joy Thomas (46), working as office superintendent of Uppinangady community health centre, ended his life. His body was found lying by the side of the road near Kootelu on Tuesday March 27 afternoon.

The mortal remains of Thomas were found lying very close to the fence of a roadside farm. A bottle of insecticide was found next to his body.Therefore,it is suspected that he would have ended his life by consuming insecticide.

Joy Thomas was from Belyadka in Rekhya village. He used to stay at Nelyady. On Tuesday morning too he had attended office and marked his attendance. Reportedly he was present inside the office till 10.30 am.

Thomas was earlier working as first division clerk in Shiradi primary health centre and on promotion as office superintendent, had started serving Uppinangady community health centre since 2016.

He is survived by wife, a son, and a daughter. A case about this suicide stands registered in Uppinangady police station. The police have begun investigation.
