Mangaluru: Deepak Rao murder - charge sheet against 13 suspects submitted

Mangaluru, Apr 5: ACP Manjunath Shetty led police team investigating the murder of Deepak Rao near Katipalla, Surathkal, submitted a charge sheet of 500 pages to JMFC court on March 31 against 13 suspects.

The charge sheet states the names of thirteen suspects as Krishnapura Katipalla resident Mohammed Nawaz alias Pinky Nawaz, Rizwan alias Ijju alias Rijju, Mohammed Naushad, Mohammed Irshan, Abdul Azeez, Abdul Azeem, Chokkabettu resident Mohammed Rafik alias Mango Rafik, Irfan, Katipalla resident Mohammed Anas alias Anchu, Mohammed Zahid alias Jahi, Hidayathulla, Chokkabettu resident Imran and Katipalla resident Safwan.

The charge sheet states alleged confession of the suspects that Deepak Rao was present during arguments regarding buntings. “The heated arguments between Deepak Rao and the Muslim group turned into assaults. Deepak was an activist of Bajrang Dal and active in religious programmes. There was enmity between Hindu and Muslim group. Therefore, he was murdered,” it said.

Safwan, a suspect in the crime is absconding. Others are in judicial custody. Police officials said that another charge sheet will be submitted after the investigations are completed.

    This charge sheet shows pure pressure from state government.So it will run as communal violence case and culprits will be freed on bail and case will not have any weightage and later they will be freed.
    It looks like to get minority votes as Elections are nearing and the government and police department played a good role in charge sheet .
    God only knows what will happen to this case and for the culprits as it doesn’t have any weightage.
