Mangaluru, Apr 11: In an incident which happened at Natekal within the limits of Konaje police station late night on Tuesday April 10, a fight between two persons ended with inflicting of stab injury on a third person.

The person who was stabbed in this incident is Ibrahim Khaleel alias Abubakker Siddique, a resident of Hidayat Nagar. Ajmal from Natekal is accused of stabbing Khaleel.

Ajmal is a bus driver. It is said that he had harassed the son of a friend of Khaleel. The boy in question, a 14-year-old student of a school, reportedly did not respond to Ajmal when the latter invited him to come near him. The boy was reportedly assaulted by Ajmal on this pretext.

The boy narrated this incident at home. Khaleel, friend of the boy's father, had called Ajmal over phone to question his behaviour. After both of them were involved with verbal friction, Ajmal is said to have challenged Khaleel to meet him personally and raise his voice if he had the guts to do so.  When both came face to face at Natekal, another round of verbal alercations ensued. Reportedly, Khaleel got angry and hit Ajmal with a piece of wood. Ajmal, in response, stabbed Khaleel with a knife in the region of his waist as per the information that is available from sources.
