Mangaluru, Apr 17: Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (MCFL), which has completed over 50 golden years of its existence serving the farmers of the peninsular India and contributing the agricultural growth and farmers’ welfare of the country, will celebrate the golden jubilee celebration on April 17 at Dr T M A Pai International Convention Centre.
On this very special memorable day in the history of MCFL, the promoters, farmers, channel partners, dealers, employees (present and the past), esteemed customers, suppliers, technology providers and all stakeholders who contributed immensely for the development of this prestigious organisation, will join together wishing for the company’s growth, farmers’ prosperity, thereby ensuring the food security of the nation.

Brief history of MCFL
MCFL is the only manufacturer of chemical fertilizers in the State of Karnataka, operating since 1976. The factory is strategically located at Panambur, 9 km north of Mangalore City, opposite to the New Mangalore Port Trust.
The main products are Urea, Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP), NP 20:20:00:13, Ammonium Bi-Carbonate (ABC) - Food grade, Sulphuric Acid, Speciality fertilizers and Nutrient products consisting of Water Soluble Fertilizers, Micronutrients & Soil Conditioners and Sulphonated Naphthalene Formaldehyde (SNF), an industrial product.MCFLmanufactures about 7 lakh MT fertilisers annually and imports three lac MT fertilizers and caters to South Indian farmers.
MCFL has manufactured till date over 123 lac MT of Urea, over 51 lac MT of Phosphatic fertilizer, 3.1 lac MT of Ammonium Bicarbonate and one lac MT of Construction chemical.
The company was incorporated as Malabar Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited on July 18, 1966, original Promoters being TATAs and International Development and Investment Corporation (IDIC). Government of Karnataka (GoK) stepped in as promoter and the company was renamed as Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited on August 21, 1971.
