Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Sep 5: Two officials are engaged in a tug-of-war of official procedures, to occupy the lone post of the deputy superintendent of police(DySP) of the district.

M B Nagaraj, who has been serving as the DySP of the district since a little more than a year, has been acting as the in-charge superintendent of police(SP) of the district, after SP Devajyoti Ray was transferred a month ago.

Menawhile, Coastal Security Police DySP Vishwanath Pandit was transferred by the state home department to the post. On Monday September 1, when Nagaraj had gone to Bangalore on official duty, Vishwanat visited the office. Nagaraj, under transfer to the department of intelligence, claims that he has secured a status-quo order from the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal against his transfer, in view of his frequent transfers since the last five years. He said, that Pandit had not signed any papers to signify that he had joined for duties at the new post. Earlier, it was reported that Pandit had taken charge as the DySP. Vishwanath did not turn up at the office on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Pandit reportedly has filed a caveat against the cancellation of his transfer order, Nagaraj informed the media. Pandit has not taken over charge as the DySP as yet, he clarified.
