Mangaluru, May 2: Vittal, working as supervisor for Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd here, suffered injury during duty hours and succumbed later in a hospital in the
city.
Vittal was working on night shift in the company on April 30 when two bolts fixed to alluminium girders of the wall Cunsing table snapped. One of these bolts hit the helmet Vittal was wearing. As this accident resulted in severe injury to his head, Vittal had fallen unconscious.
Vittal was taken to the health centre run by the company where first aid was extended. Thereafter, he was admitted into Unity Medical College Hospital here. Although he was provided with necessary treatment, he breathed his last at the hospital, sources stated.
A case of unnatural death was registered about this incident in Panambur police station.
