Bantwal, May 3: Minister and Congress candidate from this constituency, B Ramanath Rai, lost a member of his family.

Ramanath Rai's elder brother, Dr B Satish Rai, who was a popular medical practitioner at Mysuru, breathed his last on Wednesday May 2.

He had suffered heart attack sometime back after which he had been admitted into Narayana Hrudayalaya at Bengaluru for treatment.

Dr Satish Rai had tremendous interest in Yakshagana art and always patronized Yakshagana programmes held at Mysuru. Dr Rai was known for simplicity, down-to-earth nature and generosity. He used to treat poor patients without charging anything.
