Mangaluru: Puttur Aquatic Club receives second runner-up trophy at state level swimming competition

Mangaluru, May 4: Puttur Aquatic Club bagged the second runner-up trophy at the state level swimming competition conducted by Mangala Swimming Club at its premises, here on April 29 and 30 earning 119 points and 36 medals.

This was the first team championship for the PAC swimmers in a state meet which was recognised by the Karnataka Swimming Association. A total of 26 swimmers participated in the competition.



Amanraj won 1 gold in 100 mt freestyle and 1 silver medal in 50 mt freestyle.

Ankith Gowda won 1 gold in 100 mt backstroke.

Trishul won a bronze in 100 mt freestyle.

Anmay Bhat won a silver in 200 mt freestyle and gold in 50 mt freestyle.

Vardhin D Rai won a silver in 50 mt butterfly and a bronze in 50 mt freestyle.

Tanveer Pinto won a bronze in 100 mt backstroke.

Anvith Rai won a bronze medal in 50 mt freestyle.

Royston won a bronze in 50 mt butterfly and gold in 50 mt backstroke.

Diganth V S won 3 silvers in 200 IM, 100 mt freestyle and 50 mt backstroke.

Siya won 2 silvers in 50 mt butterfly and 50 mt freestyle.

Dhanvi J Rai won 2 silvers in 50 mt and 100 mt breaststroke and a bronze in 50 mt freestyle.

Monya Kausumi won a gold in 50 mt butterfly, silver in 50 mt freestyle and a bronze in 50 mt backstroke.

Mahika mandal won 2 bronze medals in 100 mt butterfly and 100 mt freestyle.

Nidhi Sashidara won 2 gold medals in 200 IM, 200 mt freestyle and a silver in 100 mt butterfly.

Pradhi Pinto won a silver in 200 IM.

Suhas won 3 silvers in 50 mt butterfly, 50 mt freestyle and 50 mt breaststroke.

Sweekrith Anand won a bronze in 50 mt freestyle.

Advith Rai won a bronze in 100 mt butterfly.

In the 4*50 metre freestyle relay, Monya Siya Manya and Pradhi won a bronze medal.

In the 4*50 mixed relay (open category), PAC team comprising Gowri Desai, coach Partha Varanashi, Manohar Prabhu and Nidhi won a gold medal.

PAC Sharks won a total of 8 gold medals, 15 silvers and 13 bronze medals and grabbed their first state level runner-up championship trophy.

These swimmers were trained by coach Partha Varanashi, coach Niroop G R and coach Rohit at the Dr Shivarama Karantha Balawana Swimming Pool Puttur.
