Congress' Mangaluru North candidate Moideen Bava lashes out at BJP

Mangaluru, May 4: Congress candidate Moideen Bava who is contesting from Mangaluru North constituency has criticized the BJP saying that corruption and controversy were the only achievements of the three chief ministers when people brought them to power.

After a vigorous campaign in Surathkal, Kadambodi and surrounding places, he lashed out at the BJP during a meeting of Congress workers.

“When the people have blessed you and bestowed you with authority, you must respond by working towards development. Creating controversy and pulling one another down through corruption should not be done. The best example is that the ministers, including chief minister of BJP government in Karnataka were sent to jail,” he said.

“A formerly jailed chief minister has been declared the chief ministerial candidate again and this reflects the thoughts of the BJP about development. By declaring a tainted person as chief ministerial candidate again, BJP has showed its true face. This should be understood by the people,” he added.

“It was due to the infighting in the BJP that they were unable to rule properly. Will release of funds and development of the state still be possible? The BJP has failed to provide any infrastructure to the people. After I came to power, I have sanctioned funds to temples and also funded road widening and concreting projects. I have the confidence that the people will bless the party that brought development,” he concluded.

Deputy president of Congress Surathkal Block Deepak Poojary, K Sadashiv Shetty, Bashir Baikampady, Govardhan Shettigar and Vijay Acharya among others were present.
