Mr Anand, Being from Canada & being familiar with USA, can you tell why there are only 40000 deaths in US per year related to traffic accidents? That too this 40000 counts not just the people who were inside the vehicle at the time of accidents, but includes bystanders, pedestrians, bikers etc? Add to it the driving speed in most of the places is above 120KMph as compared to norm of 60 KMph India, include Snowing conditions which is worse than rain.

The answer is very simple, strict driving rules imposed for all classes of vehicles including 2 wheelrs, rickshaws, cars, buses & trucks, basic infrastructure to support these rules, wider roads etc are needed for India. Who needs is responsible for providing the same? The Govt!

Dear Nihad.. I don't think so govt should be blamed for everything. Do you really travelled southcanara and udupi private buses. If road is very good accidents will be more. When road is not good also its heavily raining there, drivers should take care of passenger life.
