Bantwal, May 21: Police on Sunday May 20 arrested six persons in connection with the clashes that took place under Vittal police station limits on Saturday May 19 as well as for spreading fake messages WhatsApp.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Tameem (28), Abdul Rahiman (35), Mohammed Zakaria (25), and Sulaiman Vakaitturu (38). All are residents of Vittal and have been arrested for violating Section 144 and for rioting.

Two out of the six have been arrested for spreading false message on WhatsApp with the intention of inciting communal violence.

They have been identified as Dinesh alias Dayanand (31), a resident of Pambethadi near Panja in Sullia taluk and Nitin, a resident of Kerale of Bantwal taluk. They have been booked under IPC sections 153(a) and 295(a).

Clashes broke out in Kelinja in Vittal on the night of Saturday May 19 after Congress workers celebrated the resignation of BJP's B S Yeddyurappa's resignation as chief minister. They shouted slogans against BJP, and BJP workers too retaliated with anti-Congress slogans. Four persons were injured in the incident. At the same time, fake messages went viral in WhatsApp claiming there was communal violence in Bantwal. SP Ravikanthe Gowda took immediate measures to ensure peace and warned that anyone circulating fake messages to incite trouble would face strong action.

As per details, Dayanand forwarded a message with offensive remarks about a community. The message was sent after a tussle took place between two political parties at Kelinja in Vittal on Saturday.

The incident was purely a clash between Congress and BJP workers in which four persons were injured. But Dayanand sent the message with gave the incident, a communal colour. The message also talked ill about a particular community.

Superintendent of police Ravikanthe Gowda has already warned about sending sensitive messages.

As soon as Yeddy lost his quest for power, in some groups some people got in as new members with girls name(fake ids)& are spreading totally irrelevant posts with religious defamatory content on social media like FB & Whatsapp.
Solution for this is ignore, or report the same to police with admin's names too.
They want to continue polarization until 2019 elections by portraying other minority religious people are against majority community. People belonging to all the communities need to stop this hidden agenda of a particular org. which wants to control all others through this hate mongering for political gain.
I had warned some of these people but they are emboldened by political backing & are continuing the same till today.

We are leaving in Harmony in Mangalore and Udupi until now... but the few years the heartedness and communal violence is spread across the our twin districts....Fight the election on the ground of development and not caste and religion....Mangalore and Udupi are twin districts which are mostly highly qualified and fully literate districts in India....Let the Harmony continues... stop spreading Violence....

Whats wrong in his posting bro? . He raised valid points which you cannot digest btw. Yes, we all aware communal postings are circulated by only one political party in the country which paves hatred among the community and polarize the vote as well.

    Hi
I didnot say any comments on the article. I did mention related to the errors in the English language expression.
Sometimes it becomes" Ek desh ki boli doosri desh ki gali".
Example is it "leaving or living " ?
Language needs to be expressed properly.

Yesterday Fake church attack vedio and today offensive vedio...
Let police handle the case without political interference in both the cases..
One thing sure we can't suppress the majority community feeling in Indian politics.

These days tools like whatsapp and facebook have been used extensively to create hatred amongst communities. It is time that they make these utilities as paid utilities in India (subscription) atleast so that their access is limited to only people that actually need them.
