I feel very sad for the death of Nidi, the school going child due to the sudden pouring of rain water. Our heartfelt sympathies to her parents, and her sister. What a tragedy.

Nidhi and Nisha were returning by Nisha's bicycle when they were washed away while crossing the minor bridge at Padebettu, Patla in Padubidri here. At this hour, Nisha really requires counselling and encouragement from the school and her neighbours. Hope she will come out from this shock as she will be missing her sister in her bicycle forever.

    RIP Nidhi.

Some times I wonder the so called development is fit to face the natural calamities like rain in Mangalore.
In Mangalore, If any body takes a drives from Lalbagh to bejai, there is no footpath at all and also specially at bejai circle there is no drainage for the rain water to flow, Is this is called development. No planning, no permission is given for the expansion and development outside the city limits, building are not following the required norms, and every where lethargic attitude.

Request all the concerned people, stop blaming each other as all are behind the curtain, are one and fooling us. Let the citizens stand up and demand for safe road, proper drainage, proper infra structure.

WHEN I WAS SMALL MORE RAIN THAN THIS USED TO COME, BUT THAT TIME THERE WAS PROPER WAY TO DRAINAGE;;; NOW NO DRAINAGE AND PERMISSIONS ARE GIVEN TO BUILD BUILDINGS, FLATS WITHOUT PROPER ARRANGEMENTS FOR WATER EXIT. WE INDIANS BLAME GOVERNMENT..BUT DO WE THINK ABOUT POPULATION CONTROL???

It is sadden and hard moment for Acharya family to accept the loss of little Nidhi. May her soul rest in peace and may almighty bless the family with courage and comfort. If we had right storm water channel system then we wouldn't have lost this little child. A hard learnt lesson to implement the storm water system. Heartfelt condolences to the family

Very sad and it would be very difficult specially for mother to bear the great loss. Our govt keeps all works pending and if the minor bridge was secured well, then this mishap could have been avoided. Will the money that is granted bring the child back to life ? Damage is done to the parents and no money can bring back the loss of the parents. Govt should wake up as flash floods does not indicate when it would start the chaos. We have destroyed mother nature and in turn nature is getting aggresive on human lives.
