bangalore, Sep 15: Speaking to reporters here just before participating in the high level meeting of party leaders here on Sunday September 14, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa strongly advocated for the enactment of stringent laws on the lines of Prevention of Organized Terrorism Act, to contain terrorism in the country. He urged the centre to bring the new law urgently.
He accused the union government of owning a soft stand as far terrorsm activities are concerned, and held this attitude responsible for the mushrooming of the terrorist activities across the country. He also charged the central government of failing to protect the citizens of the country's capital, although Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi had given them advance intimation of the evil designs of the terrorists.
In the meantime, the BJP national president Rajnath Singh is learnt to have advised the chief minister as well as the BJP state president D V Sadanand Gowda to stop 'Operation Kamala', as it has chances of bringing disrepute to the party, as soon as possible, once the government gets required numbers to ensure its stability. He stressed, that the government should earn an image of reining in the corruption, to win peoples' confidence and Lok Sabha seats.
"I know the government has done many good things. But even one thing that ruins our image can play spoilsport with out chances in the Lok Sabha elections," he is learnt to have said.
