Mangaluru: Rain subsides - NDRF team goes back to Bengaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 1: National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team which had arrived to help the administration to manage the situation caused in the twin-districts by torrential rains coupled with strong wind and lightning, returned to Bengaluru as the region has been enjoying good sunshine since the last two days. The meteorological department also has said that the district will not have rain for two more days.

Water level in low-lying areas like Kudroli, Thokkottu, Kottara, Jappinamogaru etc has receded. Relief work is currently on. Deputy commissioner of the district, Sasikanth Senthil, stated that survey of houses that are partially damaged would be completed and compensation would be disbursed soon.

The deputy commissioner disclosed that NDRF team gas returned to Bengaluru. He said that the district administration has now braced itself to handle monsoon rain that has forayed into the district.
