Bengaluru, Jun 2: It is said that Y S V Datta, who had won several elections in the past from Kadur and had remained very loyal to JD(S) leaders earning admiration for his upright attitude and helping nature by people cutting across party lines, is said to have expressed his frustration at the party leaders.

Datta, who was surprisingly defeated in the recent election from Kadur constituency, who has been known as the adopted son of JD(S) supremo, H D Deve Gowda, because of the relationship the two shared between them, is said to have grown disgruntled at the recent developments. It is gathered that he directly approached Deve Gowda and angrily told him that he does not need either the latter's leadership or his party.

Datta met Gowda in the city on Bengaluru. "I have been with all of you since the time of former chief minister, Ramakrishna Hegde. When there was a split between you and Hegde, I had stayed with you. Now you have marginalized my importance in the party. You have chosen Dharme Gowda, who was the primary reason for my defeat in Kadur, as party candidate for legislative council election. I deem this as a favour you and H D Revanna have done to me for having remained your trusted lieutenant. I do not need you or your party henceforth," he stated.

Reports say that Deve Gowda tried to explain by clarifying that he had asked the concerned not to issue a ticket to Dharme Gowda but that the party had already issued a ticket to him and hence he was left helpless.

However, Datta has stayed away from giving any clarification to the media on the issue so far.
