Yadagiri: Four killed, nine seriously injured in road accident

Yadagiri, Jun 2: Four persons died on the spot after a lorry and jeep collided at Mundaragi cross in the taluk on Friday June 1.

The jeep in question was carrying people returning home to Yadagiri from Gajarkot after offering prayers at a church. Nine persons sustained serious injuries in the accident.

Basavaraj (25) from the town, Pastor John (36), Stephen Peter (21) and Elizabeth (35) lost their lives in the accident. Out of the injured, seven were admitted into Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital and two into a private hospital.

The lorry driver escaped after the accident. A case about the accident was registered at the rural police station here.
