Moodbidri, Jun 2: Five sports persons from Alva’s educational institute will be a part of Indian team that will compete in Asian junior athletic sports tournament in Gifu, Japan from June 6 to 10.
The sportsmen had won medals in the tournaments held in Sri Lanka last month and are eligible to compete in the Asian tournament. Prajwal Mandanna will compete in 100 meters, Ashish in shot put, Shubha V in 400 meters, Anamika will also compete in shot put and Abhinaya Shetty will compete in high jump.
Alvas institute president Dr M Mohan Alva has congratulated the students for their achievements.
