Tumakuru, Jun 3: Be the tug-of-war for portfolios, or Kumaraswamy’s sharp statement that he is at the mercy of the Congress, confusion in the JD(S)-Congress coalition in Karnataka has prevailed ever since its formation.
Former chief minister and leader of opposition B S Yeddyurappa has admitted that he is closely watching all the confusion.
The BJP state chief was in Tumakuru, canvassing for Y A Narayana Swamy, the BJP candidate from the southeast teachers' constituency.
Terming the coalition as opportunistic politics, he said people in Karanataka are sure to reject it and he urged the voters for teachers' constituencies to prove it.
He gave a call for ‘Nava Karnataka’ and asked the support of teachers. He expressed confidence that BJP will come back to power in Karnataka.
Citing that the previous Siddaramaiah government neglected teachers, he appealed to teachers to vote for Narayana Swamy and said it is as good as voting for the BJP. He asked people to rise above the differences of caste and religion.
Soon after the teachers' constituency elections to the Upper house, Yeddyurappa said he will launch a fight against the anti-people stand of the coalition government.
Yeddyurappa will also visit districts that have been worst hit due to rains from June 8.
