Beltangady: Sudden gush of water washes away boy

Beltangady, Jun 4: A boy lost his life after having been washed away in a rivulet on the evening of Saturday June 2. It is gathered that due to heavy rainfall in the catchment area, the rivulet experienced a sudden surge of water, as a result of which the boy who was walking at the edge of the rivulet was washed away and drowned.

The boy in question was Kaushik (8), son of Vadappa Gowda and Yashoda couple from Ermbudelu, Bandaru village. He was a student of St Thomas Primary School in the town. He is survived by a brother, a sister and a large number of relatives.

A case about the incident was registered at Dharmasthala police station. Investigation has been launched.
