Mangaluru, Jun 6: A bank employee hanged himself at his home at Vamanjur Tiruvail in the outskirts of the city on Tuesday June 5.
The deceased person is Shankar Kamath (51) from Amrut Nagar, Tiruvail. Shankar hung himself when his wife was away on Tuesday morning to drop the children at school.
It is said that Shankar, who worked as clerk in a bank in the city, had borrowed heavily and was finding it impossible to reduce his liabilities. His close ones suspected that Shankar, who was tense on account of the mounting debt, would have chosen to kill himself because of this worry.
A case about this suicide was registered in the rural police station here.
