Ramanagara: Congress MLA lambasts state leadership, praises Shivakumar

Ramanagara, Jun 6: MLC and Congress leader, C M Lingappa, expressed his frustration at the way Congress leadership is begging Deve Gowda for allotment of portfolios, though JD(S) is enjoying power as Congress handed over power to it.

Addressing a press meet at a private hotel in the outskirts of the town on Monday June 5, Lingappa noted that election this time basically was fought on the basis of caste and religion and Congress achievement in getting 78 seats can in no way be undermined.

"Deputy chief minister, Dr G Parameshwar, is ecstatic now and exulting at his post. He appears to be totally happy with what he has achieved with nothing else in mind. He has no determination to become chief minister. Now he is selling Ramanagara," he commented.

Lingappa stated that, but for the bullish move by D K Shivakumar who provided protection to Congress legislators, 20 legislators would have deserted the party and joined BJP. Shivakumar worked as per a plan and handled the legislators tactfully. He has played a leading role in the formation of the coalition government," he noted.
