Udupi: District NSUI unit celebrates World Environment Day

Udupi, Jun 6: The district unit of National Students Union of India (NSUI) celebrated World Environment Day by planting fruit and medicinal saplings at the Snehalaya students’ home here on Tuesday, June 5.

Addressing the gathering district NSUI president Christan Almeida said, “These days, environment day is just meant for photos and publicity. We have planted fruit and medicinal saplings which will be useful for boarding students and have made sure that these plants will be taken good care by the Snehalaya staff.”



He asked students to plant saplings at their homes, educational institutions and public places to make the environment green. He also urged the students to make the campus plastic-free and create a pollution-free environment to improve the quality of life.

CSI boys boarding in-charge Charles, former NSUI leader Melwyn Sequeira, Neeraj Patil, Joel Soans, NSUI members Deepak, Sarosh, Marsh, Dion, Prajwal and others were present.
