Bengaluru, Jun 7: Congress party has served notice on MLC, C M Lingappa, charging him with speaking in a way that compromised the status of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president.

KPCC general secretary, V Y Ghorpade, issued this notice. In the notice, Lingappa has been told that it has come to the notice of the party that when speaking to media persons at Ramanagara, he had spoken lightly of KPCC president.

"All the newspapers have carried reports about your remarks. If there was any difference of opinion about Ramanagara bypoll, you could have discussed the same in party forum. Issuing statements publicly is tantamount to anti party activity. The party treats this with all seriousness. Why should the party not initiate disciplinary action against you for violating the party policies? You have to provide clarification for this allegation within seven days, failing which disciplinary action would be initiated," he has warned.
