Puttur: Worker dies while sinking concrete rings in well

Puttur, Jun 9: In a tragic accident which happened at Tyagaraja Nagara, Madavu near here on Thursday June 7, a daily wage worker accidentally slipped and fell to his doom while concrete rings were being sunk in a well there.

The deceased was Balakrishna (29), son of Sanjeeva Saphalya from Tingaladi in Kedambady village in the taluk.

Balakrishna had undertaken the task of sinking the rings in a well located in the compound of a house at Tyagaraja Nagara, Madavu. It is said that when scaling the wall of the well with the help of a rope, he suddenly slipped and fell deep down, losing his life in the bargain.

The mortal remains of the worker were brought to the government hospital here for postmortem, after which they were released to the close relatives.

Balakrishna had married two years back. He is survived by wife, a brother and a sister. A case relating to this incident was filed at the rural police station at Sampya here.
