Mangaluru, Jun 12: Adding another feather to its cap, Mangalore Catholic Co-operative Bank Limited (MCC Bank), will now provide banking facilities to Non-Resident Indians (NRI) after it got the permission from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Accordingly, the MCC Bank will offer NRE (Non-Resident External rupee) and NRO (Non-Resident Ordinary rupee) aaccount facilities to NRI customers. With the introduction of the new facility, the management and staff remain focused on the fundamentals of banking and its best practices with an emphasis on sustainable growth. This additional NRI segment of customers will surely add major growth to the already existing strong customer base.
MCC Bank has been striving hard to maintain its well cherished and worthily nourished basic banking value systems built up by its founder fathers and at the same time look forward to a greater progress with the ethos of modern technological developments. Thus enabling and empowering its customers to access the best banking systems and services. Having now obtained the permission for NRI facility, MCC Bank will surely grow with the growth of its customers, shareholders, business partners and all other stake holders.
In addition, proper use of information technology in the bank has opened new arenas of service to MCC Bank’s customers. Information technology has brought forward new products and new levels of banking services. Due to effective Core Banking Solutions (CBS) and networking between the bank’s 16 branches by providing banking to customers everywhere, retail banking has become very organized and speed based. This has greatly assisted all customers and will surely support the NRI's to manage their banking.
The bank has recently installed ATM in its head- office and there are plans in place to install more ATMs on according to demands. Through the issuance of ATM/Rupay cards, customers are able to make their purchases on POS machines and e-commerce portals throughout India. MCC Bank expects to release IMPS (Immediate Payment system) during June 2018 and customers will be able to make immediate payments from their accounts through the use of their mobile. CTS cheque clearing system and RTGS/NEFT is already available and NRI customers will be able to use all of these modern day banking features. E-Stamping facility is also available at the founders’ branch at Hampanakatta.
The bank management says it is glad to state that MCC Bank is heading towards modern-day banking reality steadily and wants more and more people to make use of these systems and reap benefits of retail banking.
