Mumbai, Jul 5: Renowned actor and environmental advocate Jackie Shroff has taken his commitment to sustainability a step further by launching a major plantation drive in Lonikand village, Pune. Partnering with Dr. Ellie Organics and Thinksharp Foundation, Shroff spearheaded the creation of the Lonikand Biodiversity Park, beginning with the planting of 1,000 trees.

Known for his earthy charm and green activism, Shroff described the drive as more than just a symbolic gesture. “This isn’t just about planting trees,” he said. “We’re planting love, peace, and humanity—things that are timeless and indestructible.”

Speaking passionately about the motivation behind the initiative, he added, “Our aim is to create something that benefits future generations—a greener, healthier, and more sustainable way of life. True healing starts when we prioritize people and the planet.”

The initiative is part of the larger "We All Are Connected" campaign, which envisions planting 6 million trees by 2030. But it’s not just about numbers—the mission is also to nurture a mindset that deeply values environmental consciousness and collective responsibility.

On the work front, Jackie Shroff is set to appear in the upcoming drama "Tanvi: The Great", directed by and starring Anupam Kher. Speaking at the trailer launch, Shroff recounted the emotional moment that led him to sign onto the film.

“I usually don’t cry in front of people,” he shared. “But when Anupamji called and played a song from the film, I couldn’t hold back my tears. That moment moved me deeply.”

In the film, Shroff plays the role of Brigadier Joshi, joining a star-studded cast that includes Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Karan Tacker, Iain Glen, Pallavi Joshi, and Arvind Swamy.

With his growing environmental initiatives and powerful performances, Jackie Shroff continues to inspire both on and off the screen.
