Kasaragod: Gang enters shop, wields swords, injures man

Kasaragod, Jun 26: A gang which arrived in motor bikes at Seethangoli entered a shop and injured a person with a sword before fleeing from the scene. The incident happened on the afternoon of Monday June 25 at around 3.30 pm.

The injured, identified as Arif (31) from Mugu village, who operates an aluminium fabrication shop at Seetangoli, stands admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru.

When the gang of four chased and attacked him with lethal weapons, Arif rushed into the nearby prayer centre. The gang thereafter made a hurried exit. It is said that old rivalry was the reason behind this murder attempt.

Kumble police arrived on the spot, questioned a few, collected details, and registered the case. The policemen have also launched an investigation to bring the culprits to book.
