Hassan: IAS officer's struggle succeeds - Rohini Sindhuri made Hassan DC again

Daijiworld Media Network - Hassan (SP)

Hassan, Jun 26:  The state government has issued orders transferring Rohini Sindhuri Dasari as deputy commissioner (DC) of Hassan district again.

Because of the tussle between the then district in-charge minister, A Manju during Congress rule, and former minister, B Shivaram, Sindhuri had been initially transferred from Hassan to Mysuru. Later, this transfer order was cancelled and Rohini was transferred as commissioner for employment and training at Bengaluru. Rohini had carried out fight against her premature transfer in Central Administrative Tribunal and again in the high court here.

During the hearing, the high court had recently desired to know whether the current government is willing to re-transfer Rohini to her original place as it would settle the dispute at once. The government has conceded to this suggestion by transferring the IAS office to this district.

Appearing before the division bench of the high court on Monday, additional advocate general of the state A S Ponnanna, said that Rohini is being transferred back as Hassan district as deputy commissioner. The bench, which recorded this statement, disposed of the application moved by Sindhuri. It also dismissed the April 17 order the of Central Adminstrative Tribunal.

Advocate Gururaj, appearing for former deputy commissioner of Mysuru, D Randeep,  who had been transferred to Hassan, brought to the notice of the high court that since the last two months, his client has not been shown any posting by the government. The bench observed that Karnataka government has been in the habit of transferring officers to another post without making alternative arrangements for the officer replaced by this transfer.  It advised the government to ensure that officers are not allowed to sit idle without working and that such cases should not be repeated. Ponnanna promised to obey this order of the bench.
