Bengaluru: Gauri murder - Parashuram Waghmare sent to two days judicial custody

Bengaluru, Jun 26: The third additional chief metropolitan magistrate in the city has remanded Parashuram Waghmare, prime accused in the murder of veteran journalist, Gauri Lankesh, to two days judicial custody.

Upon the conclusion of 14-day police custody period of Waghmare, the officials of special investigating team produced Waghmare in the court on Monday June 25. Judge of the court, V Prakash, who conducted hearing, passed order giving Waghmare to judicial custody.

Advocate for the government, during the hearing, pointed out that the period of judicial custody of other accused in the case will end on June 27. Therefore, he requested to fix judicial custody of Waghmare to coincide with this date. The Judge upheld this request and remanded Waghmare to two days of judicial custody.
