Mangaluru Jun 29: The ninth graduation day of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management was held on Friday June 29 at the Netravati auditorium of the college. As many as 167 students were conferred MBA degrees.
Addressing the gathering, associate partner of Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS), EY India, Dr Devesh Prakash said, "As they step into the corporate world, I wish the graduates all the best in their future endeavours. Graduation Day is something you will cherish for the rest of your life. It also indicates that you have become a devotee of learning. The learning process has not ended and you need to continue learning in your own way. It is time to give back to society what you have learnt. Learning always helps us succeed in life.
"Continue to contribute to society. You have to make the institution, parents and society proud and cherish your success for the rest of your life. Work with love and divinity, enjoy what you like doing, work with a peaceful state of mind, do not be distressed and strive hard to reach your goal," he said.
Senior manager (compensation and benefits) at LinkedIn, Chethak Lodaya said, "I am honoured to be part of this Graduation Day. This is a big day not just for you, but also for your parents who have made a lot of sacrifices. With the right mindset, you are all set to enter into the corporate world. Begin interacting with people and learn from experience. A lot depends on how you listen, be open to receive feedback which is a gift, do not take it negatively. Do not be afraid to share ideas, if that idea has the credibility to bring changes for the betterment of the organisation.
"Keep learning, build good releationships which will help you a lot in your career to shape you up as a professional, make the extra effort which will take you a long way," he added.
Dean academics, Dr J V Gorbal administered the oath to the post-graduates. Kalpitha, Supreetha and Athmiya shared their experiences as students.
Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management signed an MOU with Ernst and Young (E & Y), a multinational profession service firm headquartered in London, for certification courses for MBA students which uplifts the value of students in the job market.
Director (strategic planning) Dr Umesh M Bhushi was also present.
Director, department of business administration, Dr Vishal Samartha welcomed the gathering, Prajwala and Jason Pinto compered the programme.
