Bantwal, Jul 5: “Three malaria and 14 dengue cases are reported in the taluk,” said taluk health officer Deepa Prabhu.

She gave the information in the taluk level monthly meeting held at taluk panchayat SGRSY auditorium, B C Road on Thursday, July 5. “Out of them, two cases of Malaria are reported in Bantwal and one in Pudu village. One case each of Malaria are reported in Pudu, Daivastala, Panjikallu, Vamadapadavu, Sajipa, Alike, Kurnadu and Vitla. Fourteen cases of Dengue including three in Punjalkatte, two in Bantwal and three in Manchi are reported. Suitable treatment is being given in taluk health centers to 78 suspected cases of dengue. Dengue and Malaria is completely under control.”

She asked taluk panchayat president Chandrahas to visit affected areas and conduct another round of fogging.

“Admission of children in the schools is decreasing every year. However, the admissions this year are more considering last year. Two schools in Jakribettu and Thoranakatte are closed temporarily for lack of students. Bantwal is leading in online admissions,” said Bantwal education officer Shivaprakash. Taluk panchayat vice president Abbas Ali asked to take suitable action against cases of fever. As there are plans to convert crematorium as Muktidhama, CO Rajanna asked to distribute necessary saplings to concerned people.

Taluk panchayat president Chandrahas Karkera chaired the meeting. Standing committee president Dhanalaxmi C Bangera and taluk panchayat executive officer Rajanna were present.
