As of now, the death of Shiroor Swamiji has been registered as unnatural death. Some legal experts feel that at least some circumstantial evidences would be necessary to convert this case into murder. In this case, post mortem report is yet to be received. The legal experts say that for transforming the case into murder, receipt of post mortem or forensic laboratory report is not absolutely necessary. Although arrests can be made under section 174 (c) pertaining to unnatural death, they point out that in case of arrests, the concerned need to be produced in court within 24 hours. Although arrests can be made based on suspicion, there should be some evidences to arouse this suspicion. Sometimes the police question people without recording their arrest or detention. However, the police have been saying that no one has been arrested in this case so far.
