Mangaluru: Several old theft cases of Mulky area cracked - two juvenile thieves arrested

Mangaluru, Jul 30: Mulky police inspector Ananth Padmanabha and team arrested two minors, residents of Karnad Sadashiv Rao Nagar near here, relating to the various cases of thefts that had taken place in the past three years in Mulky, Kinnigoli, Haleyangady, Mukka, and Suratkal.

It is suspected that a team of professional offenders is operating behind these boys and the investigation is carried out from that angle.

As per the police, this issue came to light during the investigation of a case that occurred near the industrial estate of Kolnadu.

Police have confiscated a Discovery bike that was stolen from one and a half cents land near Lingappaiah Kadu, Hero Honda bike that was stolen from Darga Road near Karnad, one more bike that was stolen from Kinnigoli, battery that was stolen from the waste collection vehicle of Kemral gram panchayat, cash and cigarette packs that were stolen from a milk booth of Kilpady and six mobile phones.

It has also come to light that the accused are involved in many more cases of stealing petrol and batteries of vehicles in Suratkal, Mukka, Kinnigoli, Kolnadu and Lingappaiah Kadu.

This operation was conducted under the guidance of T R Suresh, police commissioner. Deputy Commissioners Hanumantharaya and Uma Prashant and assistant commissioner Rajendra led the operation.

The team of Mulky inspector Ananth Padmanabha included police sub-inspectors Sheetal Kumar Alagooru and Kamala, assistant sub-inspector Chandrashekar and personnel of Mulky police station.

    If a juvenile thinks he is wise enough to commit a crime like rape robbery murder.. he should be bold enough to face the law..
    our age old juvenile laws should be changed especially in murders and rapes...

    @Lionel desouza,mangalore,sometimes it is not easy to fine parents of these young thieves,because they may not have parents,or if any coolie workers.Their heads are clever enough to choose children under age,or street boys ,so that they can slip through age group.Many times after a theft they are not there same plce but nextday elsewhere in other town.

    It's time to reduce the age limit to consider a person as a juvenile. There are no crimes left that are not done by juveniles.
