The ksrtc Volvo I was travelling to Manipal just met with an accident near baikampady today. The bus hit the truck when the truck suddenly turned right to avoid a pothole.

The trucker fled the scene. It was a fish truck and our bus had no chance to catch up.

These pothole are a big misery and to add to that all heavy vehicles drive on the right had side. No lane discipline.

The traffic cops at The scene were no help. They asked the bus driver to go to the nearest police station. They could have at least used their wireless to alert the cops at the next junction.

So all this is just the fault in our system. Lucky for us we are all safe but for a half day paycut.

What is in need of the hour is an elevated rail like the sky train - run from Mangalore to Udipi. Run it every 10 mins during peak hours & increase the interval during non-peak hours. Inside the city & around the stations, we can have the buses running. Stop these buses on the highways. They think they are F1 drivers.

Things always happen in 3s. Yesterday it was Adyar and today it is Thokkottu. What next?

Drivers of all vehicles... this is a wake-up call. Please be careful while driving. Some bus drivers I have noticed have a habit of talking on cellphone while driving. This is a dangerous trend. Please focus on your job, mind your respective vehicles and be mindful of the bad roads too. Drive safely. Don't put yours and others lives at risk.

This way we can ensure a better living.

These buses are a night mare on roads; trying to race one another they just drive all over.
drivers who drive recklessly and the owners of the buses should be fined and action on repeat rash driving or other traffic offenses actions should attract even more stringent punishment.
senior police officers intervention is definitely required.

    Peddun NRI
Highway is Mainly for trucks to ply and carry goods on time. It is generally fault of the vehicle which hit the front vehicle. In Western countries no question asked and the vehicle /driver which /who hit other vehicle from behind will be fined

You might know that heavy vehicles or trucks are not allowed inside mangalore city during day time? Stiĺl all goods and neccessory things are reaching on time to markets and to the consumers.
In european countries also there might be truck bans highways on scheduled times, but definitetly in arab. Irrespetive of all bans still those countries running smoothly without any delays in supply of basic needs to consumers.

    Hope your doubt is cleared!

Nobody is there to control the Bus drivers. They go fast to pick the passengers and to keep the timings. They wait in every bus stop to see other buses coming from back side. Then they take that bus fast to maintain timings. Our DC and TRAFF dept take strict action. RTO must cancel the permit And the Bus owners association President is simply attending the Phone in Programme and his contribution is Zero. I can't understand why they are inviting him.

Thank God there were no casualties or injuries in this bus-truck collision. Who is responsible for this? Of late there have been too many of such accidents on highways.

Need to introduce a concept of truck ban during peak hour's on national highways. Which can help to have hassle free travel of workers and school students. Our leaders are touring abroad and foreign countries for having fun in the name of learning new technologies with poor peoples tax money.

It is a National Highway and not village road. What is needed is controlled driving, maintaining Road Lane discipline which is totally absent among the Highway vehicle users, without endangering the life and property of others. It is purely the fault of the bus driver as he had collided with the truck from behind. Might is the Right principle followed by the bus. Slow moving vehicles have to keep to the left and not to move on the fast lane.. This is not followed by the trucks in INDIA . The policemen are busy in their own affairs rather than controlling these vehicles who violate the Lane Discipline. Jai Hind.
