Mangaluru Aug 4: Valedictory function of the 15-day journalism course - 2018, organized by Sandesha Foundation here in collaboration with Canara Communication Centre and Daijiworld Media, was organized at Sandesha Foundation here on Friday August 3.

Bishop of Ballari diocese, Dr Henry D'Souza, who presided over the programme, said,‘’Every journalist must imbibe the qualities of tolerance, cooperation, and collaboration, which are very important in today’s society. He urged everyone who chooses journalism as their profession, to turn into effective journalists in the field and give to the people what is real and truthful. "Good writing skill can be mastered by reviewing one's writing, correcting mistakes, and making sure that it is honest and truthful. Being trustworthy is a very important quality that plays a stellar role in the profession. Fidelity is the essence of your profession," he noted.

Dr Henry D’Souza applauded the goodwill gesture of the organizers of the programme. "Living together in society is an important point that should be followed by every journalist," he stated.

City mayor, Bhaskar Moily, who attended the programme as the chief guest, said, "Journalists should not become biased. They should give importance to truth and transparency. If a reporter strictly follows media ethics, automatically he becomes the voice of society. I hope the students of this short term course will keep this in mind and work as per the ethics. I wish you all a bright future," he said.

Zabin presented the memories of this 15 days course with the help of a documentary.

Bishop distributed certificates to the students, honoured and appreciated them.
