Mangalore: Rapid Chess Tourney Held in City

Mangalore, Oct 19: A district-level open rapid chess tournament was held at Bejai Church Hall on Saturday October 18. The tourney was organized by United Friends Bejai in association with Derik’s Chess School.



Suresh Ballal, president, North Block Congress Committee, and Lancelot Pinto, corporator, Bejai, inaugurated the tournament. Nagaraj Shetty, president, Karavali Abhivridhi Pradikara, presided over the inaugural function. Fr J P Tauro, parish priest, Bejai Church, was also present on the occasion.

Staney Alvares welcomed and Jenifa Menezes proposed the vote of thanks.
