Mumbai, Sep 10: Kannada department of Mumbai University held a charity lecture on late poet Kuvempu, felicitation and release of books at Marathi Bhavan, Santacruz east on September 10. Head of the Kannada department of Mumbai University, Dr G N Upadhya presided over the programme and released the works.

Professor Geetha Vasanth, Bantara Sangha Mumbai Andheri Bandra regional committee president, Rajyotsava awarded economic scholar Dr R K Shetty, Mithravrinda Mulund heads S K Sunder and A Narasimha were present.



Shravya Shetty read a poem. Dr G N Upadhya draped shawls on the elite, presented books and felicitated them. Kannada assistant professor Dr Gurusiddayya Swamy Kallikote presented a review of the book. Nalina Prasad welcomed everyone, introduced the guests and compered the programme. Kannada department assistant professor Dr Poornima Sudhaker Shetty thanked everybody. The programme was recorded for the first time for Akashvani Mumbai under the leadership of executive Sushila S Devadiga.
