Udupi: 70-year-old man catching fish drowns at sea

Udupi, Sep 11: A man who was catching fish by using a net died after huge waves washed him away. The incident happened near Madakallu in Uchchila Bada village near Padubidri on Monday September 10.

The deceased was Ramesh G Kotian (70) from Uchchila.

On Monday afternoon, Ramesh Kotian had ventured into the sea with a small net for fishing. The locals said that it seems that because of strong wave he was dragged away into the sea.

Kaup MLA, Lalaji R Mendon, visited the spot, met the family members of the deceased, and condoled the death of Kotian. Padubidri police visited the spot, collected details, and began investigation.
