Beltangady: Town panchayat president resigns from posts, leaves Congress

Beltangady, Sep 12: Muguli Narayana Rao, president of the town panchayat here, has resigned from the primary membership of Congress party and from the post of office bearer that he was holding.

He made this announcement at a press meet he had organized here on Monday September 11 to provide information about development works undertaken in this town panchayat during the last five years.

He informed that he has sent in his resignation letters, duly citing personal reasons, to both district Congress president, Harish Kumar, and block Congress committee president, Rajashekhar Ajri. At the same time he said he is interested in fighting the next town panchayat election here as an independent.
