Udupi: 20% dividend declared by Badagubettu credit coop society

Udupi, Sep 16: Annual general body meeting of Badagubettu Credit Co-operative Society, which is renowned as the best cooperative society in the state, for the year 2017-18 was held at Smt Ammanni Ramanna Shetty auditorium in the city on Sunday, September 16.

President of the society Sanjeeva Kanchan welcomed the gathering. Chief Manager Jayakar Shetty presented the audited report. The society has made a net profit of Rs five crore in the fiscal year and a dividend of 20% was declared to the members of the society as part of the centenary celebrations. For the past 17 years, 15% dividend was being declared every year.

It was decided to donate an amount of Rs 20 lac to the relief fund of the Kodagu deluge victims. This society which is on the verge of celebrating its centenary is an organization whose aim is not only about making a profit but helping its members in all kinds of needs. This year the society has organized various public utility programmes like people awareness camp, health camp, alcohol deaddiction camp, blood donation camp, the supply of pure drinking water, building of public toilets, protection of the environment and financial aid to poor people.

This cooperative society has eight air-conditioned own branches and has more than one lac satisfied customers.

Deputy controller of cooperative societies Praveen B Nayak, members of the administrative committee of the society like Purushothama P Shetty, Hajee Sayyed Abdul Razak, Vasantha K Kamath, Vinay Kumar T A, Jayananda C Maindan, Padmanabha K Nayak, Jaya Shetty and Gayathri S Bhat were present.

L Umanath, vice-president of the society proposed the vote of thanks.
