Mangaluru, Sep 17: Earlier patients had to wait for hours for an ambulance. Keeping this in mind, a team led by Dr Manish Rai of the prestigious KMC hospital in city have come up with an 'app' to ease patients’ woes.
Named 'savior', the app is linked with 9 hospitals in the city and one can book an ambulance with a tap on this app. The patient will also get first aid by the paramedical team.
The app is developed with the help of Deekshith Rai, founder of Codecraft technologies.
The details about the app were given by the health officer Dr Ramakrishna Rao at district health office. A convention was organised on September 16 jointly by the district administration and the team of 'Savior' at Town Hall. Training programs will be held in various hospitals of the city in this regard.
Attavara KMC, Jyothi KMC, Yenepoya hospital, K S Hegde hospital, A J Hospital, Kanachur hospital, Wenlock hospital, Fr Mullers hospital and Alvas hospital are linked to this app.
Whoever wants to book an ambulance during medical emergency, one must press the 'request help' button on the app from their location. Immediately, the drivers of the ambulance who are nearby will get a notification with a beep on their mobile and also details of GPS to track the location. The ambulance will reach within minutes and the patient will be shifted to the hospital on time.
