Bantwal: Get-together organised at St John Mary Vianny Church, Bambil

Bantwal, Sep 18: On the occasion of Nativity of Mother Mary, a parishioners' get-together was organised on Sunday, September 16 at Bambil Church premises.

It was organised by the Parish Pastoral Council in collaboration with ICYM members.

The programme began with various lucky games for all categories of people. The special attraction being the tug of war and breaking the pot. The games were systematically conducted by the ICYM members and appreciated by many. Toward the end, Alwyn Vegas, ICYM thanked the parishioners for their support and encouragement.

The second half of the celebration was held at Vianni Sabha Bhavan which began with a prayer led by Melita and group. Flavia D'Souza, vice president welcomed the gathering. Fr Johnson L Sequeira, parish priest expressed his happiness for the wholehearted cooperation from the parishioners for their active participation. He also thanked the organisers, donors and well wishers. Prizes of various games were also distributed. Later the parish council members as well as the children offered flowers to Infant Mary and honoured her.

Parish priest led the prayer over the new corn which was mixed with 'vorn' and distributed to all.

Joachim D'Souza, secretary parish pastoral council, all the ward leaders and parish council members and around 175 parishioners witnessed this unique programme of the parish. Ashwitha Pinto compered the programme and Rajesh D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks.
