Mangaluru: 23-year-old from Kerala dies in road mishap at Thokkottu

Mangaluru, Sep 19: A youth from Kerala lost his life in a road mishap occurred here at Thokkottu on Tuesday, September 19.

Anoop (23), a resident of Yernakulam is the deceased.

It is learnt that Anoop was working as technician at Deralakatte hospital. Since his brother had come from Kerala to meet him, Anoop along with his four colleagues left in a car. The car toppled after the driver applied brake when they reached Thokkottu junction when they were returning to Deralakatte.

His colleagues Bilal, George, Anand and Anup who have suffered serious injured have been taken to Deralakatte hospital.

Mangaluru south traffic police have registered a case in this regard.

    Drive normally,
    It will not happen unless someone tries to make a stunt or circus on the road.
    Normally cars are manufactured according to normal and for safe drive .

    Under 25s drive vehicles as if playing a video game.

    Until the Government introduces special rules for under-25 drivers, we will hear many more such cases.

    What is worse is that those who received serious injuries and continue to live, will have their quality of life reduced to 20%. They might be wheelchair-bound for the rest of their lives.

    Keralites, specially youth should get more training to drive in Mangalore.

    They are trying their Kerala style adventures tricks in other roads wherever they go, even in Bangalore.

    They don't even care Police in Mangalore while driving very dangerously.

    Cars they use even have fancy small number plates sometimes. Why can't our Police take strict action like they take against our two wheel riders.

    These KL registration is always has reckless driving from thalapady to pumpwell.. Not only KL there are Some KA registration Also...
    These drive as if the road is their fathers property and end up like this... 70 %of kL registration vehicle drivers belongs to same category.. Either they end up their life or take away someone else's life...
    These accidents happen due to reckless driving and overspeed...

    I Agree with you sir, These KL vehicles have become a menace now. I daily commute by this road and experience their rash driving.

    90% of KL vehicles go like crazy. They just hit you from behind and go untraceable. Police have to look into this matter seriously and take stern action . One of my senior friend lost his life because of this and the vehicle is still untraceable. People of Mangalore or People traveling on these highways please be careful.

    Dear sri_elder, Karkala, without lifting off accelerator foot (reducing speed) brake can't be applied as for both paddle same foot is used. Will pls explain the logic of your comment?

    That's what... When you lift foot from accelerator then see what is the engine rpm(idol speed). If it is too high for any vehicle then engine should be calibrated for low idle speed...
    Power transmission should be less when you do not push accelerator
