Ramanagara: Minister Shivakumar falls ill, admitted into hospital

Ramanagara, Sep 19: Minister D K Shivakumar fell ill and got admitted into Apollo Hospital at Sheshadripuram here on the night of Tuesday, September 18. The enforcement directorate had registered money laundering case against the minister on the same day.

Earlier in the day, he had obtained treatment from the doctors at Kanakapura. It is said that he suffered from symptoms of good poisoning due to consumption of food which he was not used to.

After undertaking tour of Kalaburagi along with chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy, Shivakumar had arrived in the city and reached Kanakapura in the morning to take part in a programme there. On the way, he frequently threw up and also suffered from bouts of dysentery, it is learnt. On the way, he visited Kaggalipura primary health centre and got treated there. Later, he opted to take rest at his home at Kanakapura instead of attending the programme he was to attend. A team of doctors led by Dr Kumar came to his home and treated him. His mother, Gowramma, and daughter, Aishwarya, too came there and stayed till his health condition showed signs of improvement in the evening. In the evening, the minister went to Bengaluru without saying anything to the waiting team of reporters. On reaching Bengaluru, he got admitted into Apollo Hospital.

It is said that his stomach got upset on account of eating sandwich at Hyderabad airport.
